3-D Macramé Wall Hanging | Ages 15+

Grab a friend and join us for this fun workshop to learn macramé, the art of tying knots! Using decorative knots like the lark’s head and clove hitch, you will be guided through the process of creating a repeating pattern for the background of your piece. Next, choose from a variety of fall colors and learn how to create leaves and vines. Assemble into a unique three-dimensional work of art.

You are welcome to bring a foraged branch for your project between 12 and 18 inches long. Otherwise, wood dowels will be provided. All other supplies will be included.

Knowledge of basic macramé is useful, but not essential. If you don’t finish in class, you will go home with all the essential supplies and knowledge!

All supplies included. TMA members receive 10% off all registrations.

Alyssa Burke | Art Educator

Alyssa Burke is the owner and creator of Songbird Spirals.

I’m a textile artist working from my home studio surrounded by plants and peaceful vibes. I’ve always felt most at home when I am creating something. Music and art were always important in my family. My favorite gifts growing up were art supplies, how-to books, musical instruments, and a sewing machine. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay in 2012. Although painting was my focus at the time, I found my way back to fiber art during the pandemic. Keeping my hands busy tying knots provided comfort when the world felt out of control. Workshops have become a major focus for me lately. I love sharing the meditative effects of macramé with others and I am excited to see where this business takes me! Thank you for being here! Your support means the world to me.
