Clay Pottery Winter Throwing Sessions | Ages 13+

TMA pottery classes have small class sizes with individualized instruction. All skill levels are welcome from beginners to experienced potters. In this course you will be introduced to hand-building, how to use a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Understanding and control of the materials and craft will enable you to design and develop your own style.

Monday & Thursday Night Classes: (3 Weeks, 6 Sessions)

5:30pm-8:00pm

WHAT TO BRING: Items you will want to bring to class include a hand towel, a small 1-gallon pail, and a small set of pottery tools (including a needle tool, cut-off wire, wood rib, metal rib, sponge, and a trimming tool). These are available at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Jack Richeson, online, etc for $10.00 or less. If you have other clay working tools, feel free to bring those as well. Make sure your name is on them. Remember to wear clothes suitable for working with clay, and to leave all jewelry (rings, watches, bracelets, etc.) at home.

Craig Clifford | Art Educator 

Craig holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University Long Beach and a Masters of Fine Art degree from Louisiana State University. He is an Associate Professor of Art at UWO where he has been teaching ceramics for the last thirteen years. He has also taught ceramics and art at California State University Long Beach, USC, Mississippi Valley State University. He exhibits his work nationally and internationally and has been included in the 2007 and 2009 World Ceramic Biennial in South Korea as well as, Ceramic Top 40, and is a past artist in residence at The Archie Bray Foundation, in Helena Montana and c.r.e.t.a. Rome, in Rome Italy. He is currently in the studio working for a number of group and solo exhibitions.
